Hair thin needles are placed in the outside of the ear to induce relaxation, and body points are used which correspond the individual’s specific needs. Nanoneedling is less invasive than microneedling and can be done within a cosmetic acupuncture or microneedling session, between microneedling sessions and/or as a standalone treatment. Microneedling Session

Before Treatment: If desired, topical anesthetic is applied before treatment to provide light numbing.
Gentle Treatment: Physician formulated, organic, vegan serum prepared for your skin’s individual needs will be applied. The AcuLift™ MicroPen is then used to create controlled microchannels, eliciting your body’s healing response. This will remodel and rejuvenate your skin to provide a younger, more firm and radiant appearance.
Post Treatment: Following treatment your skin may appear pink or slightly red, similar to a mild sunburn. This typically disappears after 12-24hrs. You will receive a patient aftercare kit to accelerate your recovery and results.
Results: Sometimes apparent after one treatment and will improve over a series of 3-6 monthly treatments. Results will continue to progress for several months after your last treatment. Results can last up to 5 years!

Facial Gua Sha and Cupping

Facial Cupping and Gua Sha are performed at the end of a cosmetic acupuncture treatment or offered as a standalone treatment.

Facial Gua Sha is a technique in which specially crafted handheld pieces of smooth jade are used to invigorate the skin, increase blood supply and circulation, smooths out wrinkles, helps to detoxify the face and improve inflammation. It can be used to treat a variety of skin conditions such as acne, Rosacea, and dark circles. It helps to address wrinkles, sagging, and puffiness. By providing increased blood flow to the face, the skin is better nourished and healthier.

Facial cupping is painless and increases local circulation to the face, bringing nutrients to the surface and enhancing absorption of lotions or serums. It also increases blood flow, drains stagnant fluids, eases puffiness, and helps the skin regain its youthful appearance.

Facial cups are small and can come in various shapes. After applying a special cupping oil, a small cup is either held in place for a few seconds over a deep wrinkle to increase blood flow to the area, or it is moved along the face and down the neck to drain lymphatic fluid and stimulate blood flow. This brings collagen to the surface, thereby reducing puffiness & dark circles, diminishing lines, and draining nasal sinuses and the lymphatic system. The increased local blood supply will bring nourishment to the muscles and skin to rejuvenate and revitalize the skin.

But Wait! Cosmetic Acupuncture, Microneedling, or Nanoneedling?

Which one do I choose and how many sessions do I need? All three modalities are wonderful options for facial rejuvenation with results that last for years as they increase collagen production and elastin.

• Microneedling addresses skin level issues, can more easily treat larger scars, multiple lip lines, and wide spread fine lines and wrinkles. Enhances serum absorption. Recommended 4-6 sessions, one session a month, with results that can sometimes be seen days after treatment. Repeating the series of treatments every 1-3 years is recommended for maintenance. Results last up to 5 years.
• Cosmetic acupuncture treats the underlying cause of aging and works with the muscle, fascia, blood, and qi. It better treats sagging eyelids, neck, and jowels. Results may take longer to see than microneedling. Recommended 10-12 treatments (varies depending on skin type and severity) with results that can be seen within 6-8 treatments. There is no down time with facial acupuncture and treatments can be done more frequently. Weekly treatments are recommended for the first series of sessions, then treatments can be spaced monthly or seasonally to prolong and enhance the results. Discount packages are available.
• Nanoneedling can be done within a cosmetic acupuncture or microneedling session, and/or between microneedling sessions. It can be done closer around the eyes and lips. Enhances serum absorption by 97%. Sessions can be done up to twice a week.

All are wonderful options that you can discuss with your practitioner to decide which treatment best suits you and your specific goals.

Contraindications and Cautions:

Cosmetic acupuncture cannot be done on those who have unmanaged high blood pressure, diabetes, active herpes or acne breakout, or any other active skin condition flare-up, and women who are pregnant. Please let your practitioner know prior to treatment if you have ever had botox, fillers, or any facial surgeries. You must wait at least 4 weeks after botox. Cosmetic acupuncture may cause the effects of botox to wear off. Microneedling can not be done on clients who are on blood thinners, undergoing chemo/radiation, those who have moderate to severe skin conditions or who get keloid scarring, and women who are pregnant Please avoid taking anti-inflammatory medication, drinking alcohol, or taking fish oil tablets for 48-72 hours prior to your appointment, as this will minimize bleeding.
